SUMMER SCHOOL 2014

We invite your children to the Helen O’Grady Summer School 2014. In the summer school, besides our own drama classes, we will also have music and mime lessons with teachers qualified in their area. There will be an end of term show for families and friends on the last day of the term.

Helen O'Grady Drama Akademisi, yaratıcı ve üretken İngilizce Yaz Okulu programıyla çocukları bekliyor. Çocukların sanatla iç içe 2 hafta geçirecekleri bu yaz okulunda, İngilizce drama derslerine müzik, pantomim ve sanat/elişi dersleri eşlik ediyor. Tüm derslerin İngilizce olarak gerçekleştirildiği Helen O’Grady Yaz Okulunun drama derslerinde, çocuklar, okulun son gününde sergilenecek oyun üzerinde çalışırken, pantomim derslerinde pantomimin temel tekniklerini öğrenecek, edindikleri bu becerileri dönem sonu gösterisinde kullanacaklar. Müzik derslerinde bedenlerini, seslerini ve basit müzik aletlerini kullanarak kendi müziklerini yaratacak, dönem sonu gösterisinde sergileyecekleri şarkılar üzerinde çalışacaklar. Sanat ve elişi derslerinde ise dönem sonu gösterisinde kullanacakları, kostüm, aksesuar ve dekorları yaratacaklar.

                                                                                           
Çocuklar bu yaz okulunda birlikte yaratma ve üretmenin, bir amaç için topluca çalışmanın, yaptıkları işin her ayrıntısı üzerinde dikkatle ve özenle uğraşmanın ve sonunda bütün bu çalışmalarının meyvesini almanın keyfine varacak ve bu sayede kendine güven, kendine saygı, etkili iletişim, ekip çalışması gibi çok önemli yaşam becerileri kazanacaklar.

One term consists of two weeks (5 days/week, 10 days in total and 4 hours/day, 40 hours in total). Refreshments will be served during the breaks. Classes will start at 10 am and end at 2pm. All classes are taught in English, with Turkish used when necessary.

Yaz okulumuz 2 dönemden oluşuyor ve bir dönem iki hafta sürüyor. (Haftada 5 gün, toplam 10 gün, günde 4 saat, toplam 40 saat). Ders aralarında atıştırmalık yiyecekler sunulacak. Dersler 10:00-14:00 arasında İngilizce olarak yapılacak. Gerekli durumlarda Türkçe kullanılacak.

There are four primary areas under which children learn and develop through pretend play.  They include:

• Intellectual – increase in skills such as problem solving, negotiating, creativity, organizing and planning, retelling familiar stories, application of newly gained knowledge, and mathematics
• Physical – increase in skills such as gross and fin motor development, fitness, strength, and coordination
• Social – development of skills such as sharing, taking turns, cooperation, negotiation, impulse control, delay gratification, and deal with disappointment
• Emotional – increase in self esteem, pride and accomplishment, feeling of safety and protection, development of sense of self and individuality, and feelings or purpose
